SuperChargerPros.com is the source for turbo and supercharger parts.
Turbo and supercharger are both a form of force induction. A forced
induction device, such as a turbo or a supercharger, allows for greater flow of
oxygen to supplement combustion. The denser air mixes with fuel and
increases work being done per cycle, thus, increasing the power output of the
engine. The difference between a turbo and a supercharger is a turbo is
exhaust gas driven with a turbine and a supercharger is belt, gear, shaft or
chain driven, connected directly to the automobile's crank shaft.
The first supercharger patent was given to Gottlieb Daimler, one of three
founders of Mercedes Benz.
Mercedes
Benz has been since providing a supercharger equipped version of nearly all
models under the speciality AMG badge. General Motors also has a history
of supercharger use. GM applied a supercharger in
Buick,
Chevrolet,
Pontiac,
and
Oldsmobile cars. Japanese car makers have not shied in supercharger
application either. Nissan offered an optional supercharger with the
Nissan Xterra
and Nissan
Frontier.
A turbo is similar to a supercharger in the sense that it does the
same job - forces extra air into the engine resulting in higher power output.
The difference is where the turbo and supercharger get their power from. A turbo
is exhaust driven which means it is driven by the engine's own exhaust gases.
A turbo is always turbine driven. Volkswagen and Audi have historically
favored turbo application.
Volkswagen turbo
and Audi turbo
units are very common. Saab was the first car company to promise a Saab
turbo with every model built.
We sell the SAME turbo and supercharger as the dealership but at
heavily discount prices (50% off or more). Also, we will warranty each
part for a MINIMUM of one year/unlimited miles. Depending on the model,
some parts come with a three year/unlimited miles warranty. The best part
of the warranty is it covers the COST OF SHIPPING if a warranty claim is filed.
Also, each part we sell ships for free ($50 minimum purchase),
insured via UPS ground. Every part in stock ships within 24 hours.
